'What's Eating You' ??

What’s Eating You is a new show on E!. This documentary-style shows follows two people an episode and records each of their eating habits and eating disorders. E!’s slogan for the show is about “Fear, Food, and Obsession”. This show goes into the lives of these people who struggle with binging, purging, anorexia, and different eating habits. This is not your typical eating disorder show. Unlike shows such as Intervention, What’s Eating You follows them around and documents their eating habits on a daily basis but does not have the family influence like most other shows of its kind. However, there is medical influence in the show. A therapist is a present in the show and helps her patients with their eating disorder and has a very effective way about going about their difficulties with eating. The therapist eats with her patients so they have support in what may seem like an easy task, but is extremely stressful for others.

Some of the cases are so extreme they do not consume actual food. One of the women that is on the show eats chalk and another eats out of the garbage. Another male makes his food extremely spice and adds other spices to make the food not taste good, and therefore does not have the desire to eat more. One woman on the show did not like getting butter on her hand because she felt as if she had already eaten it because it was on her hand.

Overall, this show is a great way of addressing the issue of eating disorders beyond anorexia and bulimia. There are many different types of eating disorders and obscure eating habits that are not often documented, but people to live with them on a daily basis. I think this show is a good way to reach out to many people who watch E! and might suffer from similar disorders.

Audrina Patridge Lands Reality Show

If you were concerned about life for Audrina after she got kicked off Dancing With The Stars... well, don't be. The Hills star will soon have her own show soon enough.

Audrina told Us Magazine,
"The show with Mark Burnett got picked up by VH1 so the journey continues! It's a reality show about me and my family. Everything that people have wondered about me, they'll now get to see! And I hope Tony [Dovolani, her DWTS partner] will be on it! I'd love to make some trips to New York to see him because we are such good friends now!"
I think it will be interesting to see where Miss Patridge came from.

Often people jump at the opportunity to be on a reality show to get their face out there in order to be famous... and apparently that's what Lady Gaga did! In 2005, Ms. Germanotta was on an episode of MTV's 'Boiling Points'. Check it out!

On A Reality Show? Lynn? Maybe!

So, today was a very interesting day. My friend Meghan and I were minding our own business on a Saturday afternoon... shopping.. hanging out and then she got a phone call. An hour later Meghan and I went home, changed, and were auditioning for a reality show. They made us fill out a few forms and did an on-camera interview of the both of us. Needless to say, it was a very interesting experience. There aren't too many details I could get because the concept of the show is very new and still in the development stage. After the interview, we had to film out a questionnaire about our personalities, crazy things we have done, and things of that nature. I answered the questions as truthfully as possible, but it seemed as though the casting director was really feeling us (asked us if we had a passport). I'm sure it's just standard procedure, but kind of interesting, nerve-racking, and exciting all in one. There should be a call back soon... so I will keep you updated!

Reality television shows have become so apart of our culture it's hard not to be fascinated by it. There is a new show on TLC called Sister Wives that features a polygamist family. There was a lot of controversy with the police about the show and potentially going to investigate.
